Although Precision Helicopters Hokitika is a new family run business the company’s main base located in Taranaki has been operating for 20 years. Precision Helicopters Hokitika operates a tidy 2007 AS350 B2 Squirrel, imported from the states and beautifully put together by Oceania. We believe ILN is the tidiest of her kind in New Zealand. With a bright Red picture perfect paint job ILN is easy to spot, accompanied by new interior for the most comfortable ride and brilliant vision from all seats in the helicopter.
Introducing Matthew Newton Chief Pilot of Precision Helicopters, but you can call him Matt. Matt was brought up dry stock farming in North Taranaki as kid. Matts father was a Bomber Pilot in WW2 storys of the aviation world triggered Matts desire to become a pilot. First with a fixed wing PPL then venturing into flying helicopters. Thirty years have now gone by since Matt did his helicopter licence, you can feel very safe in has hands with his vast experience operating helicopters. Predominately Matts flying career has been agriculture, oil industry, supporting New Zealands conservation and search and rescue
Lillian Newton– When you venture to Hokitika base you will be greeted by Lillian Newton. Lillian was also brought up dry stock farming, she loves the outdoors, training horses and her art which you will see hanging around the office. Lillian is training to be a helicopter pilot, she hopes to be in the pilot seat soon. For now she is taking care of booking’s, social media accounts, loading passengers and any other handy jobs around the office.
Tammy Newton– Tammy wife of Matt and mother of Lillian is always there to make sure everyone is well prepared. Tammy is a qualified chef and often brings delicious treats to the office. Tammy was brought up in an aviation family, her father flying on Mt Hut Station as a deer recovery pilot, her brother a commercial pilot, her husband and now two of her children are also pilots.
